Sorry I've been shy about posting lately. I've been working on a few projects, including tonight's first Faithful Parenting class at 7:00 p.m. at St. John's. It's for parents, grandparents, anyone concerned with kids.
The premise of the class is simple. For most of us (not all, but most) the problem with our parenting is not that we do it wrong. In theory we're good parents. We know how we want to raise our children. In practice other things get in the way, keeping us from being the parents we'd like to be. The first step in improving our relationship with our kids and our effectiveness as parents is working on us.
This is where a few, simple principles of faith can help. When we have the big picture right it's easier to make the day-to-day decisions the way we want to. We'll discover that how we see the world affects how we treat the world. Faith sees the world in pretty wonderful ways. We can translate that into seeing our children differently and seeing our purpose with them differently as well.
Come and discover how at 7:00 tonight. Free babysitting will be provided.
