We, the members of the Genesee Lutheran Parish, in receiving God’s gracious gifts, are committed to be living examples of Jesus’ love by strengthening and encouraging each other. We commit to love every person and serve anyone we can through word and deed, following the example of our Lord.

Welcome to Genesee Lutheran Parish

Genesee Lutheran Parish is located in Genesee, Idaho and has been active since 1878. The community is diverse including everyone from long time farmers to university employees and students.

We have two separate church buildings. The Genesee Valley church is a quintessential white country church set among rolling green hills. It was built by Scandinavian settlers over one hundred years ago. St. John's church is in town and is a beautiful brick structure with wonderful stained glass windows. It too, is over one hundred years old, built by the early German settlers in the area. The churches were operated separately until 1960. The two congregations are now combined and share our pastor, Dave Deckard.

Our parish is the hub of many local activities. We have a christian education program for children and adults. The youth group meets regularly for fellowship and service projects, and we have a fellowship group for young adults.

Our parish is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. While we are  Lutheran, we openly welcome all to come and worship.
