January 2018 Newsletter

Greetings to God’s beloved children.
This is a quick newsletter to update you on what is coming up at the church as we prepare for a new year and the season of Lent.
First our annual meeting is coming up this Sunday the 28th after worship. We need to have as many voting members present as we will be voting on the budget for next year and electing new council members.
That evening (28th) our High School Youth Group will be meeting from 5-7 for food and fun activities.
February 11th the Middle School Youth will have a ‘Build Your Own Pizza’ lunch for those from 4th-6th grade. That will be from noon until 2.
Lent begins on Valentines day, February 14th, We will have Ash Wednesday service at the Valley Church at noon and in the evening for those who work (or perhaps who get chocolate on that day and want to eat it all before Lent “officially” begins with the imposition of the ashes) at 6:30.
For midweek services we will also be out at the Valley Church and will have soup suppers at 5:30 with Holden Evening Prayer at 6:30  We are inviting members the community church to join us as well as anybody who might enjoy the quiet calm of that worship and are looking forward to blessed food and fellowship. I’d bet that there will be some sort of sign up sheet circulating closer to when we start.
The next two Sundays the adult Sunday School will be watching Luther, a new and very well done movie that looks at Luther and the Reformation.  Class officially begins at 9:00 and we will allow time to settle in before we start the movie.

Continued Blessings;

Pr. Dana
