A few announcements:

Sunday school started back up Sunday. It's going to have some new looks, we'd love for you to join us on our new path. Sunday mornings at 9 AM. Adults will still have Sunday school also at 9 AM.
Church service follow Sunday School at 10 AM.
Wednesday Morning Bible Study starts back up tomorrow morning at 10 AM, come study Romans with us.
Annual meeting is January 28th following church down in the fellowship hall. 11:15 AM. We have 2 vacancies on council that need to be filled. One is the treasurer and the other is an at large council position, please let the pastor or a council member know if you are feeling called to fill one of those positions.
There is going to be a Youth Group event Sunday, January 28th, 5-7 pm More information to follow. 7th-12th graders be sure to mark your calendars and plan on being there. The two events we have had so far have been a lot of fun.
Lent is right around the corner, Wednesday, February 14th is Ash Wednesday. As we plan the Lent season, we will keep you posted on when and what we will be doing.
Things to think about. What is your Lenton Journey going to be this year? Do you usually give something up or do you have a goal?

Al Mundy Funeral Service

Robert A. "AL" Mundy, 81, of Moscow, died Thursday morning, Dec. 28, 2017, at Gritman Medical Center. 
Services will be Wednesday, January 3, 2018, 11 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Genesee, ID.

Marilyn Jenkins funeral service 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church. Reception starting at noon will at the Genesee Senior Center (the ladies of the church will help serve)

Saturday Dec 2nd
7 PM Theology on Tap at Jennifer Parkins home.

Sunday Dec. 3rd and 10th
Sunday School at 9 AM the children will start practicing for the Christmas play, Please have your children there.

Saturday Dec 9th
Children's Gift Making Party 3 PM-5 PM, St. John's. There will be a craft for the children to make plus a table with odds and ends they can choose from to give a loved one. Hot chocolate and popcorn will be served and we will have a movie for them to watch.
Please let Amy Jain Peterson, Rosanna Cartwright, Verna Rice Studer, Randi Adams, Devanie Helsing or Linda Dunn Chilson know if your children will be attending. Donations are still needed for the gift table. It can be even little Dollar Store items like lotions, candles, knick knacks....

Tuesday Dec. 12th
Church council. Anyone interested in running for the upcoming open council position or council treasurer please let a council member or Pastor Dana Helsing know.

Sunday Dec 17th
Sunday school at 9 AM this will be the final children's program practice please have your children there. Worship service and children's program at 10 AM 

Sunday Dec 24th
Regular worship service at 10 AM. Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7 PM

Sunday Dec 31st
Worship service at 10 AM. Dessert potluck to follow the service

No Sunday School in Sunday Dec 24 and 31st.

No Wednesday Morning Bible Study Dec. 26th.

Sunday school will start back up on Jan. 7th

We are looking for Sunday School teachers for after the 1st of the year. If we get no volunteers we may not be able to have Sunday school. Please pray and see if this is a calling for you!!

Marilyn Jenkins Obituary

Funeral services 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Genesee. Reception, starting at noon, will follow the church service at the Genesee Senior Center. Viewing will be noon-6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, Thursday, Nov. 30, and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1. Burial will be planned in the spring of 2018.
